Pump Up the Volume: How to Choose the Right Filler

If you’re not offering fillers to your clients, you should be. Fillers are one of the most versatile treatments out there. They can be used for fine lines, wrinkles, and lips! At NanoGlow Academy, our instructors test each product. This ensures all our products are of the highest quality and produce the longest-lasting results. Thanks to our rigorous testing and knowledgeable instructors, we know which filler is best for you, your client needs, and your desired results. Here are our tips for choosing the right filler:

Let’s begin with the basics. Make sure the filler you choose is cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA). Cross-linked is important because it binds the hyaluronic acid (HA). Cross-linked HA improves the hydration effects and boosts volume, giving your clients better, more visible results. The best HA range is between 20-24% hyaluronic acid. It’s important to know, however, that cross-linked hyaluronic acid can’t be stored after opening. Check out our tutorial on how to avoid product loss.

It’s important to choose a filler that’s easy to handle, especially when you’re a beginner. We want you to provide filler treatments with confidence, while also avoiding product loss as much as possible. We recommend Bonetta and Neuramis. Both of these fillers are silky smooth, cross-linked hyaluronic acid. With these products, you’ll see even-leveled results, and they’re easy to use with the Hyaluron Pen. The main difference between the two products is the concentration of hyaluronic acid. Bonetta is 24% HA concentration. Neuramis comes in at 20% HA concentration.

Most clients prefer fillers with lidocaine. The face is a sensitive area, especially the lips. Lidocaine will prevent unnecessary discomfort during the injections. The majority of NanoGlow products, such as Bonetta and Neuramis, contain lidocaine due to the high percentage of clients who prefer it. Some clients, however, are allergic to lidocaine or simply don’t want it. If your client wants a filler that’s lidocaine-free, we recommend Sosum. Sosum is a CE-approved, lidocaine-free filler, available in all levels of viscoelasticity.

In testing, we’ve found that Dermalax Deep Plus and Dermalax Implant Plus provide the longest-lasting results. Viscoelasticity and HA concentration are the most important factors in determining how long the results will last. The longevity of visible results really depends on the thickness of the product you’re using. Viscoelasticity ranges from fine to deep to volume. Each product, however, will give a different effect, so it’s important to understand both your clients’ needs and the also the effect the viscoelasticity of the filler will have on their face. Here is a handy chart that gives you an idea of the longevity of results of our 24% HA products:

Filler HA Concentration Cross-linked Duration
Bonetta Volume 24% Up to 12 months
Dermalax Implant Plus 24% Up to 12 months
Dermalax Deep Plus 24% Up to 12 months
Bonetta Deep 24% Up to 9-12 months
Revolax Deep 24% Up to 8-12 months
Revolax SubQ 24% Up to 8-12 months

You’ve picked the right filler and provided the treatment. What next? The filler treatment doesn’t end when you put the Hyluron Pen down. The after care is just as important as the treatment. Make sure to tell your clients to drink lots of water. Offer your clients Bentpla Gel. When used 2-3 times a day, Bentpla will eliminate discomfort and speed up the healing process. It’s also a great upsell. Your clients can also take Arnica to dissolve bruising faster. However, watch this tutorial on how to avoid bruising as much as possible!
